An office carries a role: the committee handover

Access follows the office, not the person. When a term ends the access ends with it, and the next Treasurer has the books from the day the new committee begins.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Add an office bearer

    Parish office

    on Committee

The office adds a member to an office, such as Treasurer. “Access this office carries” is filled in from the position, and can be changed or set to none.

What the others see: If the member already signs in, they gain the role at once. If not, an invitation is sent, carrying the office.

  2. Step 2: The new office bearer signs in

    Treasurer

    on Accept the invitation

They accept the invitation, and find the menu their office carries: for a Treasurer, Finance.

What the others see: The committee page shows each office’s access, and “No sign-in yet” for anybody still to accept.

  3. Step 3: Hand over to the next committee

    Vicar

    on Committee

At the end of the term the committee is handed over in one step. The dialog shows who loses access and who gains it. Diocese-appointed offices can be carried forward.

What the others see: The old committee’s office-carried access ends; standing roles such as the Auditor’s are untouched. If any part fails, nothing changes.

How it ends

Exactly one current committee, every office bearer holding the access of their office and no more, and the old committee kept in the parish’s history.
