Workflow · 5 steps

A family joins the parish online

Most parishes start from an imported register, so the office usually links the request to the family it already holds, keeping the register’s facts unless it chooses otherwise.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Create an account

    Head of family

    on Sign up

A name, an address and a password. The account works once the 6-digit code sent to that address is entered.

What the others see: Nothing reaches any parish yet.

  2. Step 2: Record the family

    Head of family

on No parish yet · My family

They start a family, becoming its head, and add the people in it: names, dates of birth, photos.

What the others see: The family is theirs; no parish sees it until they ask.

  3. Step 3: Find the parish and ask

    Head of family

    on Find your parish

They search by the parish’s name or place, choose it, and ask to join with a short note. While it waits they can cancel.

What the others see: The request appears under “Asked to join” for the office, and the office is told.

  4. Step 4: The office decides

    Parish office

    on Asked to join

The office sees who is asking, the family and everybody in it, and possible matches in the register. It approves as a new family, links to a family it already has, pairing each person, or declines with a reason.

What the others see: The family is told the answer. A declined family sees the reason and may ask again.

  5. Step 5: The parish opens

    Head of family

    on Today

Approved, they come in as members. If the office linked them to a family in the register, they are shown what changed, and can ask the office to correct it.

What the others see: The office fills in the family number, ward and unit.

How it ends

A family in the parish without an invitation, one record for it rather than two, and the register’s facts kept.
