Asking the office for a date

A family asks from the phone or the website; the answer comes back to them, with a reason when it is no.

Step by step

  1. Step 1: The family asks

    Head of family

    on Ask the office

What it is for, the kind, which day, about what time, and anything the parish should know.

What the others see: It appears under “Dates asked for” and in “Waiting on you”.

  2. Step 2: The vicar looks at the calendar

    Vicar

    on Dates asked for

The request shows any clash with what is already on that day, and the clergy’s diary.

What the others see: The family sees “Waiting for the parish”.

  3. Step 3: The vicar answers

    Vicar

    on Dates asked for

Approve, propose another time, or decline with a reason.

What the others see: The family is told on their phone and sees “Approved” or “Not this time”, with the reason.

How it ends

An approved date is on the parish calendar, in “What is on”, without a phone call to the office.
